Is There Anything better than March Madness?

It is that wonderful time of year again when nothing matters but brackets and basketball. Its when kids like me skip school to watch the first and second rounds of the Big Dance, fearful of missing that one classic that could make or break my bracket. No other sporting event gives you the pure excitement and the element of surprise like the NCAA Tournament. Unlike any other sport, you always have the Goliath's of the world like North Carolina and Kansas, but there is always that David once per year like George Mason and Davidson. No matter who wins the tournament you always come out feeling like you are satisfied with the outcome because of the epic battles that occur. Keep reading manny24435's blog!

The NCAA Tournament

This year's NCAA tournament features some of the best teams in recent years. With UNC, Pitt, Louisville and Uconn sitting at the top of there regions no one is given anyone else a chance. Not even Uconn is getting a fighting chance. Besides in Conneticut every other state says that Uconn will not win. In each state less than 15% of all voters think Uconn has a chance to win. According to the poll UNC is going to be the national champion. I am a UNC fan but i still believe Uconn has as good a chance as any other top seeded team. Ok so Robbie Hummel's *back is finally healed and with him and *Chris Kramer *both healthy *Purdue finally look like the top 10 team they were picked to be at the start of the season. Look for a deep run from them including a possible upset of UCONN!!!!

The Final #1

Alright, as the bid for the final number 1 seed implodes inside of people's heads, I wonder, "Why is it UConn and Memphis?"
I mean I understand Memphis, they're the hottest team in the country, going undefeated in Conference USA, but UConn? Yeah they had a good season, but they've lost two straight and didn't even get out of their first game in the Big East Tournament, when Duke who is in the top 5 RPI and SOS is in the ACC Title game and is leading Florida State by 14 at the half. It should be "Who gets the final number 1 seed, Memphis or Duke?" But regardless of Duke or UConn, Memphis deserves the final number 1 seed.

So UM lost to Illinois and their regular season is over. Now UM has to get ready for the Big Dance and for the other talented teams in the pool. So how far can these Wolverines go? Well after George Mason and Davidson, you never really know. But if UM wants to go far, they'll have to rely on a couple of things.

The Temple Owls have earned their ticket for a spot in the 2009 NCAA Tournament, and last night was when Owls fans would find out their opponent.

Temple, ranked as an 11th seed this year, will be taking on the 6th ranked Arizona State Sun Devils in what will be a potentially down-to-the-wire game.

My bracket has Kansas, Connecticut, North Carolina, and Pittsburgh going to the final four in Detroit. My Upset pick is Western Kentucky I think all teams including UNC should look out for the hill toppers of Western Kentucky which made all the way to the sweet 16. My snubs of this year are St. Mary's Penn State. Penn State's resume is not the best but is a lot better then Arizona with got a 12 seed this year everybody knows that wins against @ Michigan State,(2)Illinois, Purdue should count for

New Mexico Lobos..

I think the Lobos should've had a shot at the NCAA torney they were tri champs with BYU and Utah and because of that i think they should go. New Mexico dont get the respect they deserve and im sure alot of people agree with me.
