Taylor Swift’s highly publicised clashes with celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Scooter Braun are well-documented. Yet beyond the high-profile feuds, the singer has also been betrayed by those closest to her too – at least that’s what it looks like from the outside.
Most recently fans have been surprised by the fact that Emma Stone – one of Swift’s besties – and Margaret Qualley, the spouse of her long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff, have done a film with Joe Alwyn – Swift’s most recent ex who she dated for six years before her current partner, Travis Kelce.
Stone, Qualley and Alwyn are all set to star in upcoming comedy drama Kinds of Kindness, set for release in June, per People.
Nevertheless, despite the potential awkwardness for Swift, who broke up with Alwyn in 2023, the film was shot while the pair were still dating, so fans can rest easy that her besties still have her back.

Still, here are five other “friends” whose actions have raised eyebrows among Swifties over the past few years …
1 and 2: Sabrina Carpenter and Lana Del Rey
Sabrina Carpenter stunned social media when images of her steamy, 90s-inspired Skims campaign were released in early April, showcasing her as the new face of Kim Kardashian’s lucrative shapewear brand.
“Skims has so many beautiful underwear styles that I was so excited to wear. I love both collections, especially the delicacy of the Stretch Lace and the second-skin feel of Fits Everybody. Every piece I wore was super flattering and so comfortable, which of course is always a given with Skims!” Carpenter said in a press release.
Carpenter is known to be good friends with Swift and has even opened for her several times during the Eras Tour, raising the question – why would she collaborate with the “Anti-Hero” songstress’ supposed arch-nemesis?
Kardashian’s long-standing dramas with Swift begun after then-husband Kanye West included a reference to her in his 2016 song “Famous”. Kardashian released a snippet of a phone call between the two artists to try to prove that he’d asked Swift’s permission to mention her. Swift later told Time magazine that she was devastated by Kardashian’s actions.

“You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,” she said, adding: “That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.”
And it’s not just Carpenter who’s worked with Kardashian since The Call either. In January, Lana Del Rey, another collaborator and close friend of Swift’s, also teamed up with Kardashian for a romance collection.
3. Karlie Kloss
Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift were once inseparable – until they weren’t. There has been a lot of speculation about what happened between them, and although they’ve assured fans that they’re still pals, not everyone is convinced. Any friendship that remained couldn’t have been enhanced by the fact that Kloss was spotted holidaying on a yacht with Scooter Braun in 2019.
Let’s not forget that Braun is the man Swift accused of being a bully and who took ownership of her work, forcing her to re-record her albums, per Vox.
4. Gigi Hadid
Swift and Joe Jonas’ relationship feels like lifetimes ago, and that may be part of the reason the former was OK with her pal Gigi Hadid dating him briefly in 2015, according to Us Weekly.

What makes it a little more weird is that Jonas apparently met Hadid for the first time when she was just 13 years old and had tried asking her out years before, according to the same source.
5. Kendall Jenner
It’s hard to imagine that at one point, Swift was pals with Kendall Jenner.
Things turned sour when Jenner sided with her sister Kim over the Kanye feud with Swift, according to Nicki Swift. What’s more, Jenner dated Swift’s ex, Harry Styles, shortly after the “Style” singer and the One Direction alum broke up in 2013.
